It’s the Year of Connectedness

Twenty-eighteen was quite a year at IHAF and for in-house agencies in general—from press coverage to performance excellence, our members demonstrated that they have what it takes to be truly exceptional.

When companies come to IHAF, they often tell us they join for the content but that the unforeseen gem they discover is the community. It’s true. IHAF is a population like no other. That’s why our focus in 2019 is to help each and every member experience the specialness of our collective community—be it online, in person or over the phone.

It’s all about member connectedness—networking, sharing and learning from one another. And, with that in mind, here are a few resolutions to help you connect in 2019.

Populate Your Profile. It’s hard to get connected if no one knows who you are. That’s why you’ll want to ensure that your corporate profile is up to date, giving other IHAF members visibility to your team size, composition and capabilities. (Here’s how to update your profile.)

Connect Virtually. Actively participating in the members-only IHAF LinkedIn Group is another way to keep pace with your peers—chiming in when questions are asked and tapping fresh content as it’s posted. Our online network is a great way to connect 24/7/365.

Answer the Call. If a fellow IHAF member reaches out to you, answer the call. And, if my team taps you for a new member introduction, say yes. Time spent chatting with other in-house professionals in your industry or local area is time well spent.

Make Face Time. In 2019, we’re offering even more opportunities for members to get together in person, starting with the IHAF Leadership Summit on April 11, held at McDonald’s brand-new headquarters in Chicago. Make time to attend an in-person event this year.

Tap Our Team. Have a question? Let us know. Missed a presentation? Let us know. Looking for resources? Let us know. The IHAF team is here to help you navigate content, community and connections—dedicated to supporting you and your in-house agency.

Fostering member connections is one of the most gratifying parts of my job, so I hope you’ll take full advantage of the opportunity (and specialness) IHAF affords by engaging even further in the new year. Feel free to be in touch if you have questions, suggestions or are looking for ways to build relationships with other members. I look forward to connecting with you soon!

Want to get more out of your membership with IHAF? Join me for our first webinar of the year, entitled Optimizing Your Membership on Thursday, January 17. This session is free to attend—register today.

In-House Data: Fact or Fiction?

October 16, 2023

I’m going to be honest with you, which I always am but this time it’s scary honesty. There are a lot of in-house agency research reports out there. And not all of them contain data that are close to the integrity of the studies IHAF publishes—the next of which drops at the IHAF conference on …
